SMSC at KWPS
At Kirkham and Wesham Primary School, we are committed to developing the whole child. Through our curriculum and wider school life, we promote pupils' Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development, helping every child to become a confident, caring and responsible member of society.
SMSC is woven throughout everyday life at KWPS and reflects our school motto:

Spiritual Development
We encourage children to develop curiosity, imagination and reflection by providing opportunities to:
- reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences
- explore different faiths, cultures and worldviews through Religious Education
- appreciate the beauty and wonder of the natural world through Forest School and outdoor learning
- develop creativity through art, music, drama and writing
- celebrate achievement and recognise their own strengths
- reflect during assemblies and collective worship.
Moral Development
Children learn to distinguish right from wrong and understand the importance of making positive choices.
We promote moral development by:
