How to Apply for a School Place
As a maintained school, admissions are administered by Lancashire County Council. Full details of admission arrangements, application deadlines and appeals procedures can be found on the Lancashire County Council website: Apply Here
Parents and carers wishing to apply for a place for their child in Reception or another year group should apply through the Lancashire County Council admissions system, each class has a maximum intake of 30. If there are more applicants than places, LCC will allocate them following the admissions guidance.
To apply:

Visit the Lancashire County Council school admissions website.

Complete the online application form during the admissions window for your child’s year of entry.

List Kirkham and Wesham Primary School as one of your preferred schools.

Submit your application before the published closing date.
Applications for Reception places usually open in September and close in January for children starting school the following September.

Admission Appeals
If your child is refused a place at the school, you have the right to appeal.

Parents or carers of primary-age children may request to delay or defer their child’s entry to Reception, or request admission outside their child’s normal age group; such requests should be made to the school and the Local Authority as part of the application process and will be considered on a case-by-case basis in line with the relevant admissions guidance.

At Kirkham and Wesham Primary School we have an admission number of 30 children per year group.

In- Year Applications
Children moving into the area can be admitted at any time in the school year by contacting Lancashire County Council. Visitors are always welcome at KWPS and, for new or prospective parents, I would warmly encourage you to come and visit us to see what we can offer you and your child.
The offer of a place would be dependant on a place being available in the required year group. If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list and you have the right of appeal.
