Meet our Governors

School governors work in partnership with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that our children receive the very best education and whole school experience while at KWPS.

This page will introduce you to our governors, but if you would like any further information relating to governance please do not hesitate to contact the Chair of Governors (Mr M Moore).

KWPS has been a huge part of my life since September 1997 when I was appointed as Deputy Headteacher. I have been Headteacher since May 2005 and on the Governing Body for the majority of this time, initially as a teacher representative and then as Headteacher. I began my teaching career in London almost 30 years ago and also taught in Blackpool. Prior to joining KWPS, I had the opportunity to work as an LEA Science Advisory teacher, training teachers throughout Lancashire in the teaching of Primary Science. I am committed to providing high quality learning experiences for our pupils and understand the crucial role governors play in school development and continuous improvement. I am well supported in my role by a deeply committed staff and Governing Body and have been fortunate to work with many wonderful children and families over the last 20 years. Both of my boys came to this school throughout their primary education and my eldest is now at University and my youngest at High School. When I have free time, I enjoy supporting Blackpool FC and taking part in amateur dramatics.

I have been a governor at KWPS for over 20 years, most of which I have been chair of governors. I chair the Standards and Effectiveness Committee and am the governor nominated for Safeguarding and SEND. Although I no longer have children at the school, all three of my daughters attended KWPS and went on to gain University entrance. I am now retired from business which gives me more time to devote to KWPS. During my professional career, I was a senior manager in the nuclear industry and then joined the Health and Safety Executive as a Principal Inspector in the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (now Office for Nuclear Regulation). In my spare time I am a very keen sailor and compete in various open meetings in the UK as well as National and World Championships. I recently stepped down as Chair of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) North West and also as a member of the National RYA Board and Council.

I have been a Governor at KWPS since 2004 and am a member of the Standards and Effectiveness Committee and Vice Chair of the Finance, Staffing, Health and Safety Committee. I am also the Link Governor, responsible for the training and development of the Governing Body, and the nominated Governor for science. I live close to KWPS and both of my children attended the school. Both have now left KWPS but my daughter, is continuing her education at College and my son is studying for his GCSEs. I have worked as a professional chemist for more than 20 years and am currently employed as a technical manager. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, video editing and hill walking. I also enjoy live music and attend concerts and other events whenever time allows. I am Chair of the Executive Committee of a local Scout group and a supporter of local community groups such as Friends of Kirkham Parks and Kirkfest.

Parent Nil Yes No No

My involvement with KWPS goes back 30 years, firstly as a pupil and now as a parent (I have two sons here, one in Year 4 and one in Year 2). I was also a parent volunteer here while I trained to be a Teaching Assistant. I am nominated governor for the subjects of PE and PSHE. I work at Carr Hill High School as the Sixth Form Pastoral Care Leader and previously worked as a Teaching Assistant there. It is a very rewarding job and it is especially nice to see our pupils from primary school grow into well rounded and polite individuals. It is always nice when they recognise you from primary! In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and going to the gym, spending time with my family and taking my children on days out, which always includes the park, cinema or the zoo!

Mrs Lynne Lowe 07/11/2013 -

Parent Nil Yes No No

I have been involved with KWPS for over 14 years, having a son aged 18 who attended from reception and a daughter of 10 just about to enter Year 6. Prior to being elected as Parent Governor I had helped out at school as a volunteer, reading with children and also helping at discos and summer fairs. I have also been on the Before & After School Committee for over 10 years. I am the Governor responsible for IT, including IT Safety. I visit school as often as I can and am proud to be part of such a rewarding and hardworking school. My day job is a Senior Project Manager for AXA; the skills I need for this role transfer well to the Governor role, particularly around IT. I have a number of hobbies - I love camping, and am passionate about reading, particularly thrillers and crime novels. I enjoy swimming and have recently taken up running but that’s still early days!

I am a mum of two children, both of whom attend KWPS. I have been employed as a civil servant for 25 years. I have been involved with school since my son started in Reception six years ago. As a parent/governor I am keen to support our school on its journey to "Outstanding" but more importantly to support our children to reach their full potential in a supportive and safe environment where "Together we can make a difference".

Prior to being appointed as a governor I had been the School Bursar for 22 years, retiring in 2013. I am Literacy Governor and have remained active within school helping individual pupils in Year 1 and Year 5 with reading and comprehension on a weekly basis, which I really enjoy, and am delighted to be able to accompany children on school trips etc. I have a BA (Hons) and MA in History, plus hold the TEFL Teaching Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) I am very interested in current affairs, cinema, theatre, reading and gardening. I am an active member of the Friends of Lytham St Annes Art Collection, helping with research and editing their website.
